Arnold Schwarzenegger Named New 'Celebrity Apprentice' Host

He replaces Donald Trump on the NBC reality series.
Arnold Schwarzenegger is headed for the boardroom.
The Celebrity Apprentice has named the actor and twice-elected California governor as the new host of the reality competition, NBC announced Monday.
Schwarzenegger replaces longtime host Donald Trump, who parted ways with NBC shortly after he announced his presidential campaign in June.
The network first said it planned to "re-evaluate" Trump's role on the reality competition — which stems back to its 2005 debut — in June when Trump announced he was running for president. At the time, NBC's stance was due to the strict rules networks must abide by in giving equal screen time to all presidential candidates.
However, NBC severed all ties with Trump in July after he made what NBC deemed to be "derogatory statements" about Mexican immigrants. In a June 16 speech, he referred to Mexican immigrants as "rapists" and as people bringing drugs and crime into the U.S. in a speech announcing his presidential campaign.

Stonebwoy confirms collaboration with Ne-Yo

Ghanaian dancehall artiste Stonebwoy has confirmed there is a song collaboration in the works with American R&B sensation, Ne-Yo.

According the 2015 Black Entertainment Television (BET) Awards Best International Act: Africa winner, there are currently talks to get the deal executed.

In July this year, a photograph of Stonebwoy with Grammy Award winning artiste hit the internet, fuelling rumours that the two could be hitting the studio.

After months of silence on the collaboration, Stonebwoy, born Livingstone Etse Satekla, confirmed the initiative exclusively to Myjoyonline.com in an interview at the 2015 MultiChoice Africa Content Showcase in Mauritius.

“[In] the US we are speaking with Ne-Yo like the last time there was a picture that came out. Communication is going on with management...” he said.

The ‘Go Higher’ hit singer did not state when the song will be released but said, “It will take time but gradually we just hope to put smiles on the faces of Ghanaians.”

Apart from his collaboration with Ne-Yo, Stonebwoy said he has been busy working with Burna Boy (Nigeria), Cynthia Morgan (Nigeria), AKA (South Africa), Cassper Nyovest (South Africa) and Jamaican-born US-based dancehall star, Kranium.

After winning the 2015 Ghana Music Awards Artiste of the Year, there has been pressure on the Ashiaman-based artiste not to rest on his oars.

After winning that award, he went on the win the BET Award and later performed at the 2015 MTV Africa Music Awards (MAMA) in South Africa. He received a nomination at the 2015 MAMA.

Asked how he is coping with the pressure, Stonebwoy said, “I would always give the best that I can because it doesn’t take only me as an artiste to keep moving forward. It takes me and the fans, and the media going as well.”
He said he is working hard not to disappoint his fans and Ghanaians.

“This year particularly has been hectic for me... I’ve been running around trying to better myself as an artiste and living up to expectations for the masses and for [Ghanaians [to] say that ‘oh yeah that is Stonebwoy and that is our artiste’,” he added.

I've got sexy body, so i will flaunt it - Mzbel

Sultry singer, Mzbel, may have developed a thick skin for criticisms of some of her actions which are deemed controversial and has resolved henceforth not to bow to pressure or allow herself to be intimidated from being an eye candy and freely expressing herself.

In a career that has thrived as much on her cheeky craft as a web of controversy, a recent semi-nude photo of Mzbel posted on her Instagram page has attracted yet another public backlash over what critics described as indecent exposure.

Nonetheless, the Legelege artiste says such hypocritical criticisms of her risqué personality would not stop her from flaunting her beautiful curves.

A defiant Mzbel told Showbiz on Monday that she would continue to flaunt her body because she is sexy and such a shapely body cannot be hidden from the “viewing pleasure” of the public.

“I want my critics to know that my brand stands for sexiness and this is what I have been projecting since I started doing music over a decade ago. What I post online is for official purposes and besides, I don’t walk in town naked.

“I am tired of the hypocrisy of Ghanaians and how they tend to read meanings into everything I do. What is wrong with the picture I posted?

“Of late, I have decided not to give ears to what people say or think about me. I won’t be bothered at all because I know I have got a sexy body even after child birth and will continue to flaunt it,” she added.

She explained that the controversial photograph which attracted the huge backlash last Friday was a random picture of a photo shoot for a billboard advert she took for a company and did not expect such a hostile reaction from the public.

But those raunchy shots are likely to be shelved from their intended purpose as they might not go up on any billboard because of disapproval from the father of the artiste’s two-year-old son, Aaron.

The smart character she is, the artiste disclosed to Showbiz she opted to enter into a deal to drop the photographs and forgo the advert.

“My baby’s daddy doesn’t support the idea but I have told him that this is part of my job as an artiste. We have come to an agreement that if he can offer me the fee I’m taking for the endorsement deal, I will back out. But I also want to do it because I want to inspire many young ladies out there that, you can still have a sexy body after birth if you take good care of yourself,” she said.

Known in private life as Belinda Nana Akua Amoah, Mzbel returned to the showbiz scene in February this year after a maternity break with the launch of her Red Carpet Show — her comeback show — only to be entangled in a web of controversies.

First, her public disclaimer on TV3’s Restoration Show, of the existence of Jesus Christ, attracted a huge public backlash, but that wasn’t enough to sober the young mother who had claimed motherhood had made her more mature and tempered her dress sense. But it appears the old Mzbel is back on the block and with vengeance.

In May this year, she courted trouble again after releasing the Help Stop Dumsor song and even before the dust settled on that matter, Mzbel was confronted again by the unending issue about the identity of her son’s father.

For now, the Awoso Me hit maker is taking a lead in a campaign to educate Ghanaians on the need to conserve energy with her Help Stop Dumsor project which has Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG), GRIDCO and Volta River Authority as sponsors.

Mzbel, who is known for songs such as Akua, 16 Years and Onye Ogbemi said she hopes her project would yield better results in the conservation of energy in the country.

Majid Michel is the best actor in Ghana now - Veteran actor

Veteran Ghanaian actor George Williams has extolled young actor Majid Michel, as one of the best in the Ghanaian Movie industry despite his conviction that the industry is retrogressing from the successes of the past.

The man, affectionately referred to as Mr. Addison, following his role in the popular 90s series, “Ultimate Paradise,” told TV3 the movies produced in recent times are of poor quality.

He was particularly peeved about the emphasis on the ‘juju’, witchcraft or superstitious movies, which have become the major theme for most locally, produced movies.

When asked about some of his favorite actors or actresses in the industry, the veteran actor only mentioned Majid Michel.

“Some of these younger fellows aren’t doing badly. Majid for instance is worth talking about because he is very conscientious and he works very hard. I wouldn’t recommend some of the roles I found him in; nevertheless he is a very good actor” he noted.

Still cheerful and fit even at age 86, Uncle George started his career in 1952 with stage acting and plays.

He later hit the screens with his first lead role in the movie Genesis Chapter X a few years later.

Spending most of his working time in broadcasting and earning a Commonwealth scholarship to study and work with the British Broadcasting Corporation, BBC, George Williams appears to have seen it all in the industry.

He is advising those seeking to achieve excellence in the movie industry to seek academic and practical knowledge.

“You got to learn how to write script to start with; you got to learn how to act and you got to learn speech and do all those things. You cannot runway from all those things and say you are doing a movie. That is debauchery. I have had the experience with people who unfortunately have not been adequately schooled in the processes of making a film and they are the people directing films because they have a few coins in their pocket. I have found that it is impossible working with 90/95% of those people. What you see is shameful,” he noted.

He is advising those seeking to achieve excellence in the movie industry to seek academic and practical knowledge. “You go to school and that’s where you start from.

Then you go through apprenticeship and keep learning because life itself is a lesson. However, the fact simply is that, I went through the mill and I think that anyone who wants to go anywhere should go through the mill. You just can’t do it anyway else” he emphasized.
